About Us Dougherty Apartments is a quality focused organisation and is continually looking to improve the quality of the care and services that it provides. Our philosophy is to promote, encourage and maintain our residents' independence, including their links with the community, for as long as practicable. This is achieved by a team approach to all activities and good communication between all staff, residents, relatives and friends.
Our residents and families are encouraged to participate in the decision making of all elements of their life within Dougherty Apartments. Every resident's right to exercise freedom of choice will be recognised and respected, whenever this does not infringe on the rights of others. At Dougherty, we strive to make all our residents and visitors feel welcome. The complex comprises a total of 138 residential units (40 low level care hostel units and 98 resident and public funded self care residential units ) together with associated support facilities, housed in a nine level building, with a further basement level for residents, staff and visitors car parking. It is a secure facility with intercoms in every unit connected to the ground floor entry via a visual display panel. Twenty four hour (24) emergency care services are provided. Dougherty Apartments also provides short term Respite Accommodation in the Hostel. This facility gives relatives and friends a break in caring for their loved ones. |
