Dementia Care

The Palmer Wing is our 14 bed communal living wing, designed specifically to meet the needs of people with symptoms of dementia. The concept of the Palmer Wing is to combine the intimacy of home and family, whilst enabling privacy, with each Resident having their own bedroom.

Many of our Palmer Wing Residents begin their association with us by becoming General Residential Care Residents earlier. Here they are assimilated with everyone and are then moved into the Palmer Wing when it is felt that they would benefit from a more closely monitored environment.

With the Palmer Wing opening in September 2006, it has enhanced our vision to offer the best possible care. The Palmer Wing is co-ordinated by our Director of Care Services. Together with the Personal Care Assistants and Dementia Care Worker, the Residents are encouraged to be as independent as possible. Our staff are selected for their knowledge as well as temperament and ability to manage behaviours.
